I’m First Lady Consuelo F. Garza, and I have the honor of serving alongside my husband, Senior Pastor Eduardo Garza, at City of Light Church in Arlington, Texas. As a pastor’s wife, I have experienced the powerful presence of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in ways I never imagined. Today, I’m excited to share a little of my journey—how working in ministry has transformed my heart, deepened my faith, and taught me to fully rely on God.

From the beginning, our work has always been centered on prayer. Whether we are on our knees at home or standing in worship with others, prayer has kept us strong and united. My husband and I often pray together before going out to serve the church or our community. Those quiet moments, and sometimes even loud ones, bring peace and power to our mission. I’ve learned that when a couple serves God together, He strengthens not only their ministry but also their marriage.

Ministry is not always easy. There are days when things get heavy. People are hurting, situations feel impossible, and the responsibilities seem endless. But even in those moments, I feel the hand of God guiding us. I have learned to depend not on my own strength, but on His grace and wisdom. As a pastor’s wife, I’ve seen firsthand how prayer, humility, and faith can move mountains.

One of the most beautiful parts of serving in ministry is watching lives change. Whether it’s through open-air revivalscommunity service, or regular worship, I’ve witnessed God heal broken hearts, restore hope, and bring people back to life spiritually. Being part of this transformation brings me so much joy. It reminds me that all the time, energy, and prayers we pour into this calling are never wasted.

Working closely with my husband has been a gift. We support one another, encourage one another, and grow together. Our shared love for God and His people has built a solid foundation not just for our ministry, but for our family and our future. There’s something very special about serving side by side with someone who shares your passion and vision.

I also feel called to support and inspire other women—especially those serving in ministry. I want them to know that they are not alone. There is purpose in every challenge, strength in every trial, and joy in every small victory. When we stay close to God, He lifts us higher than we ever thought possible.

In everything I do, I hold on to this truth: God is faithful. When we obey Him, trust Him, and serve Him with our whole hearts, He blesses us in ways we don’t expect. My testimony is not just a story—it’s a reflection of what God can do when we say yes to His call.

If you are reading this and you feel a tug on your heart to know more, to grow deeper in faith, or to join hands with us in ministry—please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to pray with you, walk with you, and serve with you.

Introduction: Understanding the Foundational Christian Beliefs of City of Light Church

If you’re looking for a Bible-based church in Arlington, TX where the truth of Scripture is preached with clarity and power, you’re in the right place. At City of Light Church, our ministry is built on unwavering Christian beliefs that are rooted in the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

This article will clearly explain what we believe at City of Light Church, so whether you’re exploring Christianity, new to faith, or looking for a church to call home, you’ll understand the spiritual foundation we stand on.

Some practical knowledge that I have learned through experience, and my walk with Jesus, is simple. God is a God of peace, not a God of confusion.

The Bible – Our Ultimate Authority

We believe that the Holy Scriptures—all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments—are the divinely inspired Word of God.

Infallible and Inerrant

The Bible is without error in its original form and is our ultimate authority in all matters of faith, life, and doctrine. At City of Light Church, we teach and preach from Scripture as the living Word of God.

Create a Prayer Battle Plan

The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words. Everyone realizes why a new common language would be desirable: one could refuse to pay expensive translators.

  • To achieve this, it would be necessary to have uniform grammar, pronunciation and more common words.
  • If several languages coalesce, the grammar of the resulting language is more simple and regular than that of the individual languages.

The new common language will be more simple and regular than the existing European languages. It will be as simple as Occidental.

The Trinity – One God in Three Persons

We believe in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Three in One

These three are one in essence, equal in power and glory, and perfectly united. This belief is central to our Christian doctrine at City of Light Church.

God the Father – Creator and Sustainer

God the Father is the first person of the Trinity. He is the Creator of all things, sovereign over the universe, and full of love, mercy, and justice.

He reveals Himself as a loving Father who desires a relationship with His creation.

Believe in Jesus

The European languages are members of the same family. Their separate existence is a myth. For science, music, sport, etc, Europe uses the same vocabulary. The languages only differ in their grammar, their pronunciation and their most common words. Everyone realizes why a new common language would be desirable.

To an English person, it will seem like simplified English, as a skeptical Cambridge friend of mine told me what Occidental is. The European languages are members.

Jesus Christ – Our Savior and Lord

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human.

Born of a Virgin and Risen from the Dead

He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, and rose again to offer us eternal life. Jesus is the only way to salvation.

The Holy Spirit – Empowering the Church

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who lives within every believer.

Power, Guidance, and Gifts

He empowers us to live a holy life, leads us into truth, and gives spiritual gifts for ministry. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a separate experience from salvation, evidenced by a deeper intimacy with God and spiritual boldness.

Salvation – By Grace Through Faith

We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, not earned by works, but received through faith in Jesus Christ.

Transformed by Grace

When a person repents and believes in Jesus, they are forgiven, redeemed, and made new. This transformation is the beginning of a lifelong journey of growing in God’s grace.

Creation and the Fall – Humanity’s Need for Redemption

We believe God created the world out of nothing (ex-nihilo) and made mankind in His image.

Sin Entered the World Through Adam

Through the sin of Adam, humanity became separated from God. That’s why Jesus came—to restore what was lost and bring us back into right relationship with God.

Eternity – Heaven and Hell Are Real

We believe in eternal life for the saved and eternal separation from God for the lost.

Heaven Is the Reward, Hell Is Real

Heaven is a place of eternal joy and union with God, while hell is a place of eternal separation and judgment. We are called to share the Gospel so that more people can choose eternal life.

The Church – The Body of Christ

City of Light Church is part of the universal Church, made up of all believers worldwide.

Called to Worship, Disciple, and Evangelize

We gather to worship God, grow in discipleship, serve each other, and share the Gospel. As a Spirit-filled church in Arlington, TX, we believe in actively being the hands and feet of Jesus in our city and beyond.

The Return of Jesus – Our Blessed Hope

We believe that Jesus Christ will return again, physically and visibly, to judge the living and the dead.

This gives us hope and urgency to live holy lives and share the Gospel until He comes.
